The American College of Equine Attorneys, Inc. was organized on April 23, 2002 as a Kentucky Non-Profit Corporation. The purposes for which the Corporation is organized are: to promote and participate in continuing legal education opportunities relating to the equine industry; to assist in promoting model legislation or rules and regulations relating to the equine industry; to act as a legal resource for parties promoting legislative initiatives which affect the equine industry; to promote ethical practices among equine counsel; to provide a panel of mediators and arbitrators who are qualified to mediate or arbitrate issues in the equine industry; to recognize professional achievement and outstanding contributions to the equine industry; to provide liaisons with industry groups on legal issues; to promote referral network and opportunities in the equine industry; to act as a resource for lawyers about industry professionals such as expert witnesses, appraisers, bloodstock agents, and others; and to promote research and scholarship in the equine industry.
